          way  of  life,  their  religious  beliefs,  and  their  artistic  sensibilities.  The
          Maidams are also a significant pilgrimage site for the Ahom people,
          who continue to venerate their ancestors and uphold the traditions of
          their forefathers.
              Charaideo Maidam being recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage
          Site is a matter of pride not only for Assam but for the whole nation and
          is the result of the determined efforts of the Government of India to
          preserve the diverse cultures of our country. Preserving the Charaideo
          Maidam is not just about safeguarding a piece of history; it is about
          honouring the legacy of a dynasty that shaped the destiny of a region.
