Baliram Hedgewar, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
(RSS) marks 100 years of shaping India’s national
consciousness. From promoting unity and discipline
to nurturing community service, the organisation
continues to play a pivotal role in India’s social and
cultural life.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his message on the
centenary, called the RSS a movement dedicated to
‘serving society and nation building.’ He noted that
“innumerable Swayamsevaks have devoted their lives
towards fulfilling this vision,” honouring the century-
long journey of the organisation.
