The Non-Cooperation Movement (1920-22) was a major milestone
in India’s struggle for Independence. Gandhi ji asked people to reject
British rule peacefully by giving up official titles, boycotting foreign
goods, withdrawing from British institutions, and embracing Swadeshi.
The movement united the country and showed that freedom comes
through self-reliance and collective effort.
The Civil Disobedience Movement (1930-34) began with the famous
Dandi March, where Gandhi ji broke the salt law to show India’s right
to make its own essentials. The movement spread across the country,
with protests, strikes, and boycotts of British goods. Promoting Khadi
and local industries, it became a symbol of economic independence,
proving that India’s strength lay in unity and reliance on its own
resources.
