1982: The First Trial of EVMs
          Electronic  Voting  Machines  (EVMs)
        were  tested  for  the  first  time  in
        Paravur  Assembly  Constituency  in
        Kerala. However, legal and technical
        hurdles prevented their widespread
        adoption.
