Both my kidneys got damaged. I became hopeless about my life.
Doctors suggested the option of transplant. My parents were ready
to donate their kidney to me. I was afraid of the risks. But doctors
said that the donor as well as the patient can live a normal life after
transplant. The transplant happened in 2012. My mother donated her
kidney to me, and my life became normal again. Organ India helped
me train for the Transplant Games for which we went to Germany in
2025 and won a number of medals. India ranked 13th. I hope next time
we will rank 1st.”
-Ramdev Singh, Kidney transplant survivor, Sikar, Rajasthan
Organ donation is more than a medical
procedure. It is an expression of empathy
and shared humanity. Each donor family and
transplant recipient carries forward a story of
courage, resilience and gratitude, proving that
even in moments of loss, hope can flourish.
