My heartfelt thanks to the
Hon'ble Prime Minister for
highlighting my transplant
journey on Mann Ki Baat
programme. underwent
a double lung transplant
on 22nd January 2019. It
became possible because
of the generosity of a
brave family, who through
the donation of their loved
one's organs, kept both
me and their loved one
alive within me. In the year
before transplant, I was
completely dependent on
oxygen support. I couldn't
even walk a short distance
without oxygen. Even
in the washroom I had
to use the oxygen. I will
remain forever grateful to
the donor's family, to the
doctors and their team,
to my family and to all my
well-wishers for enabling
me to live a normal life
today. By God's grace,
I've now been able to visit
places like Nathu La pass.
My humble appeal to all of
you: “Please come forward
for organ donation and
help others to spread
awareness. There's no
greater gift than giving
someone a new lease of
life.”
