3:46 Bhavet. Thank you very much, Minister, and all the guests present on the stage, for formally inaugurating this program by lighting the lamp. The members of the Central Bureau of Communication department presented a special performance with chanting of mantras. 4:00 Thank you very much to all the members for this, and now the mementos will be presented to the chief guest and special guests of today's program.
4:07 We would also like to share some brief information about this memento. During the British rule, in the year 1867, the British government had implemented the Press and Books Act.
4:21 After 156 years, the current government of Narendra Modi has further accelerated the process of breaking free from the mentality of slavery by implementing the Press and Periodical Registration Act 2023.
4:29 On one side of this memento, the first copy of the 1867 Act is depicted, while on the other side, a copy of the new 2023 Act is inscribed.
4:46 To present this special memento, I now request Mr. Bhupendra Kainthola, the Press Registrar of the Registrar of Newspapers office, to please present this special memento to the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur.
5:14 I again request Mr. Bhupendra Kainthola to please present the memento to the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Sanjay Jaju.
5:28 And now I request the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Sanjay Jaju, to please come and address all of us on this occasion and share detailed information about the program. Shri Sanjay

5:52 Honorable Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Dignitaries on the
6:07 dais, Friends from the
6:12 media, Ladies and gentlemen, It is indeed my
6:19 pleasure to share with you today that there are three groundbreaking initiatives
6:27 undertaken by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting that are getting launched
6:35 today. These three initiatives aim at Reshaping the
6:40 media landscape in our country, and this initiative will also help us in
6:47 improving our engagement with the members of the
6:52 media. As you are aware, the Press and Registration of All
7:00 Act 2023, which is a momentous
7:08 piece of legislation for the press and the members of the media in our country, has recently been
7:15 promulgated by our Parliament. And now we are coming up with a portal called
7:20 Press Seva Portal, which would help us in completely automating the registration process
7:28 of newspapers in our country. This initiative is going to
7:34 simplify the cumbersome procedure that prevailed under the colonial act, a copy of which was
7:40 shared with us, which was enacted way back in 1867. And we are very confident that this
7:47 new portal will really pave the way for creating
7:52 a more efficient and streamlined environment for all the newspaper publishers in our country, and the number of such
8:00 publishers—small, medium, and large—is fairly huge in our
8:05 country. In addition to this, from the Ministry, we are also launching
8:11 the Transparent Empanelment, Media Planning, and E-billing system for the
8:17 Central Bureau of Communication, almost like an Enterprise Resource Planning software for them. And this would also
8:24 primarily help CBC to ensure that the work that they do with the outside world in
8:32 terms of providing comprehensive media and communication solutions would get further strengthened. This would also
8:40 bring in a lot of transparency and efficiency in the work that they do right now, and it will also be a Kind of an end to
8:46 and a solution which will facilitate a completely paperless and faceless environment for all those who are engaging with CBC and
8:55 and I think this will go a long way in furthering the interests and providing ease of doing business.
