The journey tested their
courage and skills at every
step. They faced winds up to
50 knots (93 km/h), freezing
temperatures, and stormy seas.
The most difficult part of their
voyage came during the third
leg from Lyttelton to Port Stanley.
This stretch took them through
the dangerous Drake Passage,
where they faced three cyclones
and rounded the fearsome Cape
Horn, known as one of the most
challenging routes for any sailor.
Yet, the two officers stood firm,
proving their strength, discipline,
and belief in themselves.
Their journey was not only
about survival at sea. At every
port, they became India’s
goodwill ambassadors. They
met parliamentarians, students,
naval cadets, Indian diaspora,
