on the Waves of
Self-Reliance
From the seas to the skies, India, today is setting new benchmarks
in security and self-reliance. The ‘Make in India’ resolve in the Defence
sector is now clearly visible on the ground. Recently, Hon’ble Prime
Minister Narendra Modi proudly highlighted this growing strength
of the nation during the ‘Mann ki Baat’ program. Advancing in this
direction, three indigenous warships—INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak,
and INS Agray—were inducted into Indian Navy’s fleet during a historic
ceremony at the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata. These
three warships were designed by Navy’s ‘Warship Design Bureau’
and constructed by Kolkata-based ‘Garden Reach Shipbuilders and
Engineers.’ Possessing distinct capabilities, these warships stand as
formidable symbols of India’s self-reliance in maritime security and
Defence manufacturing.
