From ‘Mann ki Baat’ to Republic Day Celebrations

        Honouring India's inspiring citizens

When the Hon'ble Prime Minister mentions a citizen in ‘Mann ki
Baat’, it becomes a moment of national recognition. For several
grassroots changemakers featured in different episodes, that
acknowledgement extended beyond the broadcast as they
were invited as special guests to the Republic Day celebrations.
Their interaction with Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister
for Information & Broadcasting, Railways, and Electronics &
Information Technology, and Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for
Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, reflected
the spirit of inclusive governance where those working silently at
the grassroots are brought to the forefront of national celebration.

“It’s been a wonderful experience. The Ministers are down to earth.
We actually need this kind of inclusion. Modi ji’s Government has done
that. I am so happy because in the last 33 years of
my sports career, I have contributed 32 world medals
so far, but this time only I got good appreciation
from the Government of India. I express my sincere
gratitude to the Ministry, Vaishnaw Ji, Doordarshan &
                         Akashvani.”
