                    Statues, Stories and a Shared Heritage





























            Indian culture is cherished and respected all over the world. From
        small towns in Europe to bustling cities of North America, the imprint
        of Indian civilisation can be seen in temples, community centres, art

        exhibitions, and even in the hearts of people from other cultures who
        have embraced India’s timeless wisdom. Its presence is not confined
        to rituals or festivals alone. It breathes through the values of peace,
        harmony, and compassion that India has gifted to humanity.
            Recently, supported by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations
        (ICCR) under the programme  ‘Connecting the world through The
        Ramayana’, the unveiling of a statue of Maharishi Valmiki in the small
        town of Camporotondo in Italy reflects the growing respect for Indian

        heritage  across  borders.  For  the  Indian  community  living  there,  the
        statue is more than just an idol. It is a symbol of belonging and cultural
        pride. Maharishi Valmiki, the revered author of The Ramayana, continues
