A person should keep on
doing one’s work and in this
sense, Swami Vivekananda
had also given a message to
the youth - ‘उधतिष्ठि जाग्रि प्ाप्य
वरान्निबोरि’ (Utishthat Jagrat
Prapya Varannibodhat) -
which means ‘arise, awake and
stop not till the goal is reached.’
Indian arts are associated with
all these messages, so Indian
art is unique in itself.
The puppeteers in India also
do an important job of passing
on our Indian morals and values
of Ramayana, Mahabharata and
other spiritual tales to the next
generation through the art of
storytelling. Today's generation
wants to know about their history
- be it through puppets, dance or
music, the younger generation
wants to connect with their
culture. This is the strength of our
art that they showcase Indian
culture.
My first task in this
organization was to start the
Amrit Yuva Kala Mahotsav. In
our upcoming programs also,
we will connect with school and
college students and organize
interactions with our senior artists
so that our new generation can
understand our diverse art and
Indian culture.
